The Craps Table Craps takes place on a long, narrow table, banked with low walls covered in textured foam that encourages a random roll of the dice. Most Craps tables in real-world casinos are double-ended—that is, they accommodate two simultaneous and independent games of Craps, one on each side of the center, with mirror-image layouts. Some smaller tables also exist, for just one game; and online slots follow their model. The Craps table is overseen by a Boxman, who oversees the entire table; a Dealer for each game, who pays winners and rakes in the house’s take; and a Stickman, who stands among the players across the table from the Boxman and Dealers and oversees the rolling of the dice. Markings on the table’s green felt surface clearly indicate all the various betting options offered by the game. See The Bets, the Payouts, and the House Edge to gain a clearer understanding of what all these markings mean. |
